Seafood OREGON is a cooperative ‘marketing & promotional’ venture made up of the state’s four industry-funded Commodity Commissions – The Oregon Albacore Commission, the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission, the Oregon Salmon Commission and the Oregon Trawl Commission. Collectively, they represent the majority of the seafood landed in Oregon and are able to assist you in locating suitable sources of supply, accessing information and providing promotional materials to help educate your staff and customers.

The Oregon Trawl Commission (OTC) is made up of the people who fish and process trawl products. OTC funding is used to educate both retailers and consumers about Trawl Products. For more information on Oregon Trawl products, contact the Oregon Trawl Commission in Astoria (telephone 503-325-3384) or visit their website, www.ortrawl.org.

The Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission consists of seven members whose goal it is to enhance the image of the Dungeness crab industry, and to increase oppotunities for profitability through promotion, education and research.

The Oregon Salmon Commission was created by an act of the Oregon Legislature in 1983. The commission´s primary functions are marketing and promotion of Oregon Salmon, and the commitment to a sustainable industry for generations to come. The Oregon Department of Agriculture appoints nine commissioners from the industry to oversee the commission´s activities. The Oregon commercial salmon industry is made up of fishermen and women—many of them third and fourth generation boat owners—who operate small, independent businesses.

The OAC's primary activities include marketing & promotion, information dissemination, consumer education and research. The Commission exhibits at major seafood and food industry trade shows under the Seafood OREGON umbrella with the state's three other seafood commodity commissions. The OAC produces marketing materials, furnishes 'supplier contacts' and in general, works to enhance the use and consumption of 'troll caught' Albacore.
